Check in and warm-ups from 4:00-5:00 PM. Early Birds: $50 per two-man team; At the door if not sold out: $60 per two-man team; Free agent players: $30; General admission: $5. Floating Lantern Ceremony

See hundreds of paper lanterns floating on water and glowing warmly from their individual source of flickering light - a candle's flame. Together, they become a soulful display of community spirit, reflection, and gratitude and to express your hopes and dreams for the new year. Participants are encouraged to personalize a paper lantern sleeve to float on CAM's reflecting pond. Lantern sleeves are available for purchase throughout the ceremony. Port City Ping Pong Throw Down

11th Annual Ping Pong Throwdown is back again at the Brooklyn Arts Center on January 25 with doors opening at 2 pm and tournament at 4 pm. Registration at the door. There will be a FREE practice night on Friday, January 24, 5-10 pm. Awesome food trucks both nights! Trolly Stop on Friday, January 24. WilmyWoodie and Boombalatti’s ice cream on Saturday, January 25th. BAC bar will be serving. Free street parking. Both nights sponsored by Edward Teach Brewing. All ages welcome! Wrightsville Beach Valentine Run

You are going to be in LOVE with this race! Treat yourself this Valentine’s season to a heart-themed race with spectacular views of Wrightsville Beach. Distances include a 5K or 10K, or make your heart beat a little faster and run both the 5K AND 10K in the Double Trouble event. This is a great race for beginners with a flat and fast course. The Annual East Coast Shag Classic is one of the signature fund raising events for Hope Abounds, Inc. Hope Abounds originated in Wilmington, NC and this event celebrates beach music and shag dancing that originated in the Coastal Carolina areas. Come and experience the sounds of Carolina Beach music, shag & line dance lessons, exciting raffles, Blingo, rise & shine beach walks, nightly band concerts and a Saturday afternoon matinee with DJ Ken Jones. Polar Plunge and 5K

Help support local Special Olympics athletes by participating in the 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, or by taking a chilling plunge into the Atlantic Ocean. Run for a great cause on a certified 5K course open to all ages and skill levels. Race participants will not be required to plunge, but are encouraged to heat up with the run/walk and cool down with the Polar Plunge – because some people are just worth freezing for! Art for All at Brooklyn Arts Center

The Brooklyn Arts Center is thrilled to announce Art for All 10 on Saturday, February 22. This will be our biggest show yet! More than 50 of the finest local and regional artists will present one-of-a-kind art in the Church and in The Annex. Wilmington’s finest food trucks will feed the crowd each day — A&M Red Food Truck on Saturday and WilmyWoodie on Sunday — Grumpy Grandpa’s Coffee Shop will serve coffee, and the BAC Bar will provide additional liquid sustenance. Parking is free in our North 4th neighborhood. Admission is $5—good for all three days and includes a raffle ticket. Children under the age of 12 are free. Click here for additional information.

Comedian Blair Socci at Dead Crow Comedy
January 17 & 18, 2020
BLAIR SOCCI is a Los Angeles-based comedian who recently moved back to her native state after 5 years in New York City. Her stand-up has been featured on Comedy Central, Last Call with Carson Daly, and Kevin Hart’s Lol Network. She was a breakout “New Face” at the 2017 Just For Laughs Montreal Festival and was also named to Bustle Magazine’s 2017 class of Comedians to Watch. You may know her from starring in the popular MTV series, Ladylike, or her from her writing and appearances on MTV’s Guy Code vs. Girl Code. Blair is the co-creator and star of the acclaimed digital series, Blair’s Lair, which follows a millennial agoraphobe with questionable morals and has been written up in Vulture and Paste Magazine.
