Summer Fireworks by the Sea and Boardwalk Gazebo Music
Every Thursday, Beginning Memorial Day Weekend - September
Pleasure Island Summers 'officially' begin when the weekly fireworks kick off on Memorial Day Weekend. Then every Thursday, the beach strand on Pleasure Island lights up with weekly firewoks! The best place to view this weekly spectaular show is on the beach strand located in front of the Courtyard by Marriott or on the historic Carolina Beach Boardwalk, where there is music at the Gazebo stage for your enjoyment. So 'pack up' the family and head to the Boardwalk in Carolina Beach. The music starts at 6:30PM followed by the fireworks at 9PM.  Follow Facebook for weather delays, changes and updates.

Downtown Wilmington Wine & Beer Walk
September 24, 2016
On Saturday September 24, 2016, the Wilmington Wine & Beer Walk invades Downtown Wilmington once again. Don't miss out on this popular sampling tour of downtown's finest venues! The walk begins, at the new Throne Theater (Formally Ziggy's By The Sea) where you will receive your "official" Wilmington Wine & Beer Walk ID and a map of the participating establishments. Enjoy 2 wonderful samples (per venue) of a specially selected wine or beer. Venues include Bombers Beverage Co, Front Street Brewery, A Tasting Room, Slice of Life Pizza, Tavern Law, InnerBanks Wealth Management, Costello's Piano Bar, Front Street Optometric Care, BAR LoCAL and Jenn's Vin. Phobia Haunted Trail
September 30 - October 31, 2016 (Weekends)
Phobia Haunted Trail is a Fall seasonal weekend attraction going through Halloween night October 31, 2016. This is a live actor event. You will experience scenes that some people find freightening and disturbing. Phobia Haunted Trail in Wilmington NC has scenes created to tap into your inner most fears. Our guests will weave their way through the haunted trail and will be greeted by our live actors. They will not touch you, but they will work to give you nightmares. As you walk through the trail you will transition though various scenes sure to have you on edge not knowing where the next action will strike. This year's attraction will have our guests search for renowned Phychiatrist Dr. Luke Von Witz who is assumed to be conducting unlawful experiments on his former patients. No one under the age of 13 will be admitted for the night events. There is a less scary version during the daytime for kids 5-12. Click here for additional information.






North Carolina State Foosball Championships
October 7 - 9, 2016
Breaktime Billiards will host the 42nd Annual North Carolina State Foosball Championships - the nation’s longest running state tournament event beginning in 1974 in Greensboro, North Carolina. The management and staff of Breaktime Billiards welcomes all foosball players to participate in the hottest foosball competition on the Bonzini™ U.S.A. Tour. A portion of the tournament proceeds will go to support Wilmington’s Brigade Boys & Girls Club. 2016 Wilmington Riverfest
October 8 - 9, 2016
Wilmington’s Riverfest, celebrated on the first full weekend of October, runs through Historic Downtown Wilmington on Water Street from the foot of Market Street to Cape Fear Community College. Currently drawing nearly a quarter-million people, this free, family-oriented celebration is a two-day event and has grown to be a widely anticipated annual celebration. Riverfest boasts craft vendors, concessions booths, a children’s play area, entertainment on various stages, Saturday night fireworks, and more. This year, we will also be crowning our second Annual Miss Riverfest. One well-deserving young lady will be crowned and perform hostess duties throughout the festival. Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival

ARTfall 2016
October 13 - 16, 2016
ARTfall will be one of the events during American Craft Walk Wilmington (formerly the Art Walk) a celebration of visual and performing arts at various locations in downtown Wilmington culminating in the walk on October 15. The ARTfall Exhibition will be open to the public Thurs-Sat from 10am - 5pm and Sun 1-5pm with an artists’ reception Saturday October 15, 2:00 – 4:00 pm featuring the award presentation at 3:00 pm. American Craft Walk Wilmington
October 15, 2016
This inaugural year, downtown Wilmington will host the American Craft Walk Wilmington™ (formerly the Art Walk) on Saturday, October 15th. This event will be the culmination of the ten-day celebration of American Craft Week Wilmington. American Craft Week is a nationally established effort to build awareness of the Arts, Craft and Culture in America founded by CRAFT.org, a non-profit. The former Art Walk grew tremendously over 12 years promoting the arts with the event and American Craft Walk Wilmington™ will not change the focus, or the success of the art walk, but simply connect it to a larger effort. PPD IRONMAN North Carolina
October 22, 2016
The PPD IRONMAN North Carolina features a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and a 26.2-mile run through coastal and southeastern North Carolina. It is a unique "point-to-point-to-point-to-point" event, with each leg finishing in a different location. The swim starts at the southern tip of beautiful Wrightsville Beach and takes place in a channel connected to the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. The bike course then takes competitors from Wrightsville Beach through the outskirts of Wilmington and three surrounding counties before returning to Historic Downtown Wilmington to the second transition area. The two-loop run is an out-and-back, flat and fast run course starting in historic Wilmington and leads athletes around picturesque Greenfield Lake. The race finishes in downtown Wilmington on the Cape Fear River just across from the historic USS North Carolina Battleship. Click here for additional information.
